Music Couture: Introducing Artist Development

Music Couture is a local record label that focuses on artist development and is dedicated to help aspiring musicians to reach their fullest potential. Music Couture will provide their clients with the necessary resources, including vocal training, production, marketing, promotions and industry etiquette, to make sure that their artists are able to maintain a substantial and marketable music career.

The name Music Couture reflects the standards and image of this company.  “Couture” is a French term used in the fashion industry that means handmade and is a garment that designers create for an exclusive market of individual customers. Add music in the mix and you have Music Couture, a company that caters to each artist and their individual style of music for their specific target audience of listeners and puts handmade care into every client’s career. They focus solely on what is best for the artist, on a local and national level.  Their services will create an exclusive market for individual artists that will focus on that particular artist’s needs and wants.  See the connection? And that is how Music Couture was born.

A brainchild of Cleveland native Monisa Mason, Music Couture is not only what Cleveland needs but is what Cleveland artists should want.  Mason realized that there was a need for a company who was passionate, dedicated, genuine, and had a talented roster of individuals who wanted to help build Cleveland’s musical foundation.  She realizes that there are many talented artists in the area, who needs proper development and sincere guidance.

“Cleveland needs that one big break. Who says that you have to travel to NY, Atlanta or LA, just to get noticed? Clevelanders and other small towners need to realize that we can do whatever we want as long as we have determination and that go getter mentality.  I am tired of hearing people ostracize Cleveland, when we do have what other major cities have but we just lack the drive and proper resources. By properly utilizing who and what we know, I do believe that we can open the door for these artists, right here in our city. Many locals are content with being a big fish in a small pond, but who wants to just be a local celebrity?”

With experience from working with industry professionals like, radio personality Tommy Kaye of 107.3 in Toledo, Jeff Roberson of the 1990’s R&B group Smooth Approach, DJ Keith Success out of Toledo and many others in the field, Music Couture can show Cleveland something different, which is a bigger picture.

“I want to show Cleveland that I am not just the typical music lover who wants to make a quick name for herself, but that I am a young businesswoman who is passionate about helping local artists reach a level of success within their careers.”

Music Couture’s first artist was “Pop Rock N’ B” singer and Akron native, Chelsea “Tari Topaz” Breeding, who has performed in the Cleveland, Akron and Canton areas. She is currently further pursuing her musical career in Atlanta.
